Peshawar rugs, more recently known as Chobi, are the latest styles of fine rugs made in many different regions of Pakistan, but named after this ancient city. The bolder design colors of strong contrasts are washed out. And now, newer colors in a variety of golds, greens, browns, teal and sky blues are introduced that are compatible with the latest trends in the upholstery market. The softness and cohesion of these tones lends to a luxurious and elegantly understated look.

Imitations are prevalent and easily passed on as the real thing to the untrained eye. A disappointed customer would likely show up at your door a year later complaining of frayed wool and worn spots in regularly trafficked areas; its truly uncharacteristic of a hand knotted Peshawar.
